File this under “don’t make products no one wants.” I bought some boxers from the Gap online. They came and I was happy. Then I put them on and realized there was no fly in the front. I actually thought they were defective. That happens, I thought.
I can just return them. But then I went to the Internet and found out that this is an intentional design. I actually went to the Gap store to look at the men’s underwear to double check that they sell this item. Perhaps it was the second class products they sell only on the Internet?
Not so. The label on the boxers says “non-functional fly.“ The nicest thing I can say about this is that they are nice panties. However I do not want to wear panties.
The Internet tells me that many other people feel the same way about this product. Is it a case of Gap making them because they are cheaper and therefore preserve their profit margin?
I still don’t know and cannot figure this out. I don’t know anyone who wants them. My point for us is don’t do this. Don’t invent something nobody wants. Don’t waste your trying time trying to sell something nobody wants. If they buy it they will be angry. Stupidity of this level carries a grudge.
People avoid you because at a primitive level everyone believes stupidity is contagious. Just because something is easy or fun to make doesn’t mean people want it.
